Appliance Repair in Yulee, Florida
Mainland Nassau, off the island, and a separate run from both Fernandina Beach and Callahan. What that changes about a visit is the point of this page.
Nassau
Yulee is the mainland half of a county people picture as an island
Almost everything written about appliance service in Nassau County is written about Amelia Island. That is fair — the island end holds most of the built-in and professional equipment in the county, and it is the most corrosive environment we work in anywhere on the First Coast. It is also the wrong page for a Yulee address, and the difference is not a matter of a few miles.
Yulee sits on the mainland side, west of the water, on the road everything takes to cross to Fernandina Beach. In the ZIP index on this site it carries neither of the two flags that change a visit: it is not marked for salt air and it is not marked for pre-war kitchens. It is later construction with ordinary access — cabinetry drawn around the appliance rather than the reverse, square openings, and room to bring a refrigerator column forward without taking trim off first. That sounds like an absence of problems, and in one sense it is. What it actually means is that the diagnosis starts at the machine instead of at the building, which is a different first hour from the one an island call gets.
The corrosion sequence that decides a Fernandina Beach visit — fasteners, then hinge pins and dampers, then condenser fin stock, then the visible stainless — is not usually what decides a Yulee one. It is not absent, because nothing this close to the marsh is entirely out of the weather, but it is not the first thing a technician goes looking for, and treating a Yulee kitchen as an island kitchen spends the part of the visit you are paying for on the wrong question.
The drive is why we ask for the serial number before we come
Nassau is the longest run in our coverage area, and it does not route as one journey. The island and Fernandina Beach are one block. Callahan is far enough west that it usually shares a day with whatever else is inland. Yulee is its own block in between, and that is the practical reason a same-week date is realistic here and a same-day one is not.
It is also why the booking conversation is longer for this address than for one in Jacksonville. With a second trip expensive in time rather than in parts, the model and the serial number matter more here than almost anywhere else we go. Parts for built-in and professional equipment are ordered against the serial number, not the model alone: the same model built two years apart does not always take the same component. Sealed-system parts, inverter boards and steam-generator assemblies are the ones that wait. Door hardware, gaskets, thermistors and fan motors usually do not.
Built-in equipment is fitted to the millimetre. A refrigerator column comes forward on rails and carries several hundred pounds with the doors on; an integrated dishwasher cannot move until its cabinet panel does. Reaching the back of either is frequently the longest part of a visit, and it is priced in the written estimate before it starts.
Ice machines, which is what Yulee calls about
Standalone and undercounter ice machines, and the ice maker inside a built-in refrigerator, are a larger share of the work here than the county page would suggest. Newer kitchens and newer outdoor kitchens mean more of this equipment per address, and it is the appliance most likely to be quietly failing while everything else in the room is fine.
The design fact behind most ice complaints is that these machines meter the fill by time, not by volume: a valve opens for a fixed number of seconds and the machine assumes the mold filled. Anything that slows the water down — a restricted supply line, a tired valve, a filter nobody has changed — produces small, hollow or half-formed cubes and no error code at all. The other half of the calls are harvest faults, where the ice forms correctly and will not release. The order those get checked in, and which of them you can rule out yourself before booking, is in how a built-in ice maker fails, and the equipment itself is covered on the built-in refrigeration page.
On an outdoor unit in Yulee the thing to listen for is not the ice at all. It is whether the machine still stops. A condenser that cannot reject heat makes ice more slowly and holds a warmer bin long before anybody notices the cubes, and a harvest cycle lengthening through the summer is the earliest honest symptom.
Gas ranges and cooktops, and the job that is not ours
Gas cooking equipment is the other thing this ZIP code asks about. We repair it: burners that will not light from cold, igniters and spark modules, oven thermostats and sensors, doors and hinges — and we disconnect and reconnect the appliance to do it, leaving it tested and sitting square in its opening. How each of those is checked is on the ranges, cooktops and wall ovens page.
What we do not do is pipework. A new gas run, a meter change, a conversion between natural gas and propane, a relocated shut-off — that is a licensed gas fitter's trade, and we will say so on the phone rather than send somebody to say it at the door. If a range is arriving and the supply already exists at the right point, the question worth asking first is whether the opening and the electrical circuit fit the appliance, which is a measurement rather than a visit.
What this company does not service
This is a kitchen company. What we repair is the equipment built into a kitchen: refrigerator and freezer columns, wine and undercounter cooling, standalone ice machines, ranges, rangetops, cooktops and wall ovens, dishwashers, steam ovens and built-in coffee systems, and kitchen ventilation — a hood, its liner, and the inline or roof-mounted blower and duct run that serve it. What we do not touch is the machinery that heats and cools the building. We do not install, service or replace furnaces, heat pumps, central air handlers, heating boilers, water heaters, pool heaters or a building’s ductwork, and we do not send somebody to look at one. If that is what you need, an HVAC contractor is the trade to call, and telling you so on the phone costs less than a visit.
Storms, and the failure that arrives weeks late
Around 68 thunderstorm days a year. Repeated line transients are what kill appliance control boards here, far more often than a single direct strike.
Matthew in 2016, Irma in 2017 and Helene in 2024 each left parts of the region without power for days at a time. The work that follows a long outage rarely arrives during it: a control board or an inverter compressor that survived the loss and the restart often fails weeks later. Yulee took all three of those storms along with the rest of the county, and the pattern is worth knowing because it breaks the connection people normally make: if a unit has been through a multi-day outage in the last couple of months, that belongs in the booking even when the appliance has behaved since. Why cumulative transients do more damage than a single strike is set out in storm season and control boards.
Yulee is one of three places we schedule in Nassau County. The county page covers Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach and Callahan alongside it, and the coverage index lists every ZIP code we schedule across all four counties.
01 ZIP index
The three ZIP codes we schedule in Nassau County
Salt-air corrosion on the island, older housing in Fernandina, and drive time long enough that the county is scheduled in blocks.
| ZIP | Area | Conditions that change the visit |
|---|---|---|
| 32034 | Fernandina Beach / Amelia Island | Salt airPre-war kitchens |
| 32097 | Yulee | Standard access |
| 32011 | Callahan | Standard access |
“Salt air” marks the barrier-island and oceanfront ZIPs, where corrosion reaches condenser fins, hinge pins and fasteners before anything internal fails. “Pre-war kitchens” marks the 1900s–1930s housing belt, where the cabinet opening and the electrical panel decide what can be fitted or removed. Everywhere else, access is ordinary and the diagnosis starts at the appliance.
02 What it costs

|---|---|
| Door gasket or seal replacement | $230–$620 |

03 Questions
What do Yulee callers ask first?
- Do you come out to Yulee, and how soon?
- Yes — 32097 is in the ZIP index and Yulee is scheduled as its own block, separately from the Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach run and separately from Callahan. A same-week date is realistic and a same-day one is not, which is why we ask for the model and serial number at the booking: it is what lets a likely part travel on the van instead of being ordered after the visit. Scheduled appointments during posted hours. We do not run an after-hours or emergency line.
- Can you repair an ice machine in Yulee?
- Yes, standalone and undercounter ice machines as well as the ice maker inside a built-in refrigerator. The diagnostic is $80 flat and comes off the total once you approve the work. Completed ice machine work has landed between $230 and $630, parts and labor together — here, evaporator or condenser fan motor $250–$580, and ice maker, water valve or supply line $230–$630. That is what the job has cost before, not a quote; the firm figure is written down after the diagnosis.
- Do you install gas appliances or run a new gas line?
- No new pipework. We disconnect, repair and reconnect the gas range, rangetop or cooktop we came out for, and we leave it tested and sitting square in its opening. A new gas run, a meter change, a conversion between natural gas and propane or a relocated shut-off is a licensed gas fitter’s work, and we will say so rather than take it on. If a range you have bought is arriving and the supply already exists at the right point, the question worth asking first is whether the opening and the electrical supply fit it.
- Do you cover heating or air conditioning in Yulee?
- This is a kitchen company.
- Does a Yulee address cost more than one in Jacksonville?
- No. Flat $80 diagnostic, credited toward the repair when you approve the work. The figure is the same anywhere in the First Coast of northeast Florida; the drive changes how quickly a date can be offered, not the price. Written estimate before any work begins.
- What happens if the same fault comes back?
- 90 days on labor, 365 days on parts, and we fit genuine OEM parts rather than pattern equivalents. Both clocks run from the date of the repair, so a part that fails inside its term is replaced rather than re-quoted.

Fernandina Beach house, and the refrigerator had been running warm since spring. He measured the sealed system properly instead of guessing, found a leak at a joint, repaired and recharged it. It has held steady since.

Our coffee unit kept reporting it needed descaling right after we had descaled it. He showed me the flow meter reading, replaced the sensor, and walked through the water hardness setting so it would stop happening.

The built-in coffee machine kept reporting an empty bean hopper with beans sitting in it. He replaced the sensor and cleared out the grinder chute, which is where the real blockage had been the whole time.
