Warranty on the work

90 days on labor, 365 days on parts, and we fit genuine OEM parts rather than pattern equivalents.

01 Cover

What is covered, and for how long

Two clocks start on the day of the repair and they run independently. The shorter one is on our labor; the longer one is on the part. Nothing here narrows or replaces a right you already have under Florida consumer law.

Repair warranty — cover and exclusions
Situation What applies
The labor on the repair we carried out 90 days from the date of the visit
The part we fitted 365 days from the date of the visit
A return visit for the same fault inside those windows No second diagnostic fee
A different fault on the same appliance Charged as a new diagnostic
A part supplied by the homeowner Labor only — we cannot warrant a part we did not source
Damage from a later power event, flood or impact Not covered — assessed as a new fault

02 Parts

Why the parts policy is worded this way

Genuine OEM parts only. A pattern compressor start relay or a third-party control board will fit and will run, and it is the single most common reason an appliance comes back to us six weeks later. On sealed systems and on electronic controls the tolerances are not interchangeable, so we do not offer the cheaper option and then warrant it for a shorter period — we simply do not fit it.

Where a part is discontinued and no original equivalent exists, we say so on the estimate before you approve anything, and we tell you what the substitute changes about the warranty.

A manufacturer warranty is a separate thing

Our independence — set out in full in the footer of every page — matters here in one practical way. If your appliance is still inside the manufacturer's own warranty period, that manufacturer may require its own service network to carry out covered work, and having us do it instead can affect the cover. Check with them first. When we think that is the better route for you, we will say so on the phone rather than book the visit.

Sealed-system work

Sealed-system work on a refrigerator or wine unit means handling refrigerant, which is federally regulated. Our technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification.

Making a claim

Call First Coast Appliance on +1 (904) 822-9883 with the date of the original visit and the appliance it concerned. Both clocks run from that date, so it is the only reference we need. Warranty return visits are scheduled inside the same posted hours as any other appointment.

Next step

Book the visit

The $80 covers the visit and the diagnosis, including pulling and reseating a built-in unit where that is what it takes to reach the fault. If you approve the repair, the $80 comes off the total. You get a written estimate — parts and labor itemised — before any part is ordered.
